Week of 10/27 to 11/3

Welcome to the MP3 parent blog!

This is a place where classroom information will be shared. Featured on this site are:

Book recommendations to go with the current classroom theme
Contact information
Useful links
Suggestions for working with your emergent reader
Class Calendar
And more!

There will also be weekly announcements. Any news and information which comes home in the Wednesday folders or through periodic emails will be included in these weekly posts. There is a calendar also posted in the bottom portion of left sidebar. As we approach major events like the school play and the garage sale, look for more frequent updates.

You may comment on the announcement posts with any questions or information by clicking on the "Comment" link at the bottom of each week's announcements. Comment moderation is turned on, so your comment won't show up until the blog facilitator has approved it. For now, the blog facilitator is Mary Bogan. Anyone else who is interested in helping out with the blog can contact her through the following email address: RollingHillsMP3@gmail.com.

This blog will allow the parents of the MP3 class to improve our communication with each other and our teachers. Please let us know if you have any suggestions for making it better.

Let's get to this week's announcements:

Walk-a-thon rescheduled. Due to the air quality issues, the Walk-a-thon has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Novembe 7th.

Yearbook Cover Contest. Our theme this year is "Roadrunners are Smart, They Follow Their Hearts!" Your child should submit his/her drawings by December 10th. Entries should be drawn on 8 1/2 x 11 white paper. Colored pencil is the best. Abolutely no crayons!!! The drawing should not extend to the edge of the paper. Multiple submissions are allowed. Name and room number should be on the back of the drawing in pencil.

Mini-Classes continue this Friday.

Parent Drivers: I found another way to get your driver's record without having to go to the DMV! Click on this link and you will be directed to a forms page at the DMV website. Follow the directions and print out the page, sending it--along with a check for $5.00--to the address provided. It only took 8 days, from my mailbox to the DMV and back to my mailbox.
