Solar System Supplies Wish List
There are still items on the supply wish list. Check out the list on the classroom door.
At Home Activities for the Solar System Unit
- Ask your child each day what he/she has learned about the solar system
- Plan a family "Full Moon Walk". FInd out when the moon will be full. Pack a snack (and a jacket) and take a moonlight hike!
- Ejoy some family stargazing! You may want to use a star map to help identify the different constellations.
- Watch the newspapers or magazines for any stories about the solar system. Clip the articles that focus on space travel, new discoveries or unusual events (such as eclipses) to read and discuss with your child.
- Be a Moon Watcher! Of the many kinds of cycles in science, observing the phases of the moon is one of the easiest to witness. Complete the Moon Watcher calendar with your child. (This went home with your child in the Wednesday packet a couple of weeks ago.)
- Read books about our solar system. There is a list in the left sidebar of this blog.
