Weekly Announcements 12-3 to 12-7

Well, it has been a month since the last weekly announcements. Please accept my apologies for not keeping the posts current after making such a big deal out of creating the blog.

We do have plenty of news and dates today. I am starting two new labels today:

Class Play
Camp Out

I'll be putting any pertinent information up there as well as in these weekly announcements.

Here are the basic announcements from the Brown Bag meeting today:

Props still needed for “Mary Poppins”:
Coat Rack
Black Umbrella
Cap
(See Brown Bag Minutes, 12/5/07 for more details on props needed.)

Other “Mary Poppins” items:

Please make sure your child is on time for school on the days of the performances - Dec. 18, 19, 20. If your child needs a microphone (you’ll be told if this affects you), you’ll need to make sure they are here by 8:00 or 8:15. Thank you!

Professional DVDs will be made of the play. They will be available at a reasonable price. Sign-ups will be in the classroom, as we get closer to the performances.

Cast Party will be held after the last performance on Thursday, 12/20. There will be sign-ups on the classroom door, as we get closer to the date. Val Muir has offered to be in charge (thanks Val!), but we will need help from parents to make/bring food and to help set up that night.

Breaking down the sets will be done after the final performance on Thursday, 12/20. We will need strong people to help out with this. The more we have the faster the job gets done. The sets need to be moved into our storage bin, which is in close proximity to the Multi-Purpose room where the play is staged.

Priority seating will be given to the K families and the 2nd grade families on Wednesday evening. Priority seating for the 1st and 3rd grade families on Thursday evening. Please be mindful that families should get those front rows. You will still need to arrive a bit early to secure a seat.

Other Class Issues:

There will be a classroom cleaning day on Saturday, 1/12/08. A sign-up will be in the classroom as the time draws closer. We ask that parents please take the time to come in and help out with this important task. Parents who had signed up for our previous cleaning days in October and December are especially welcome. Thanks in advance for your help!

Class Campout - This will be held from June 6 – 8 at San Clemente State Beach. Please make your reservations now if you are interested in camping. Spots go fast. A flyer was sent home in today’s Wednesday folder and an e-mail has been sent out, too.
